Gevgelija (Cyrillic Гевгелија; Albanian definitely Gjevgjelia, indefinite Gjevgjeli; Greek Γευγελή Gevgelí; Turkish Gevgili / Gevgelü; Serbian Ђевђелија Đevđelija) is a city in the Bojmija region in the south-east of North Macedonia and the capital of the Opština of the same name.The town of Gevgelija is located about two km north of the Greek-North Macedonian border, west of the A1 motorway and the Athens-Belgrade railway line, on the right bank of the Vardar River . Nearby are the mountains of Koruf and Pajak. Gevgelija is around 70 km north-west of Thessaloniki, around 165 km south-east of the North Macedonian capital of Skopje and 6 km north-west of the Greek border town of Evzoni.
