Bregana is a place in northern Croatia that belongs to the town of Samobor. It is about 12 km northwest of Zagreb. According to the 2001 census, 2528 inhabitants live there.The Bregana − Obrezje border crossing is located in Bregana. It connects Croatia with Slovenia. From 2004 until Croatia joined the EU on July 1, 2013, it was the EU’s external border. The border crossing is the starting point of the A3, the second longest Croatian motorway, which in turn leads to Serbia.
