Erdut is a place in the extreme east of Croatia and at the same time the eponymous part of a municipality , which includes the places Erdut, Dalj, Aljmaš, Bijelo Brdo and the scattered properties of the Daljska planina and according to the last count 7308 inhabitants (as of 2011). The municipality is part of the Osijek-Baranja County, the north-easternmost district of Slavonia. The municipal seat is Dalj.
Erdut is far advanced in a large loop of the Danube, which here – at about 85 meters above sea level – forms the border between Croatia and Serbia; the place itself is about 70 meters above the stream
